This policy explains what personal information LearnItBy collects at learnitby.com, how we use it and the choices you have. LearnItBy is operated by BDKM LLC ("LearnItBy", "we", "us" or "our").
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in a hashed form that we cannot read.
- Creator details. If you apply to sell, the creator name and headline you give us, and when you accepted the creator agreement.
- Creator content. Products, descriptions, cover images and files you upload.
- Messages. What you send when you email us.
Information created when you use LearnItBy
- Purchases. What you bought or claimed, the price, when, and the payment reference from Stripe.
- Downloads. Which files you downloaded, when, and from which IP address.
- Security records. Login attempts, sign-ups, password changes and other account events, with the IP address used, to protect accounts and prevent abuse.
- A session cookie. We set one cookie, named
learnitby_session, only when you log in or use a form. It keeps you signed in and protects forms from forgery. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Payment information
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe, and we never receive or store your full card number. Creators give their identity and bank details to Stripe when they set up payouts, not to us. Stripe's use of your information is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, including confirming your email address.
- To deliver products you bought or claimed and keep your library.
- To process payments, refunds and creator payouts through Stripe.
- To review creators and products and to enforce our Terms of Service.
- To send emails you need, such as verification links, password resets, receipts and decisions about your creator account or products.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents, and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Who we share it with
- Service providers. IONOS hosts the website, database and email. Stripe processes payments and creator payouts.
- Creators. Creators see how many learners their products have. They do not receive your email address.
- Legal reasons. When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or LearnItBy.
- Business changes. If LearnItBy is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. Purchase and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Security and download records are kept for as long as they are needed to protect accounts and prevent abuse. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law.
5. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email support@learnitby.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information to provide the service you asked for, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interest in keeping LearnItBy secure, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
6. Security
We use HTTPS for every page, store passwords only in hashed form, keep product files in storage that cannot be reached directly from the web, and limit repeated login attempts. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Where information is processed
Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
8. Children
LearnItBy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
